![]() Soon enough, the pillars matched the symbols on the wall. With the first pillar being in the correct position thanks to Amethyst, the fusion activated the other two. "Only one way to find out." said Garnet as she moved over to the symbols. "Hmm, snake, snake, dolphin.unless it's backwards?" Pearl pondered. "What if we tried making them match with the ones on the wall?" Steven said suddenly, shocking the group.Īs the group heard his suggestion, they each looked to the wall and noticed the symbols there once more, plus the one on the ground. "Okay, but how do we know what the symbols are?" asked Amethyst. "We probably need to align the pillars with the right symbols to open the gate." "I think this might be a puzzle of some sort." Garnet said. Look, the symbol changed." Connie said as she pointed out how the symbol, which was the shape of an eagle, had changed to that of a snake. As she lost interest quickly though, she went and leaned up against one of the ground level pillars, only to be thrown from it as it rotated upon being touched. "Alright, no one touch anything until we can figure out how to get this gate open" Pearl said as she pointed out the blocked passage.Īs she said this, Amethyst began to poke around. Not too far from those, hanging higher in the room were two face carvings with the same symbols embedded into them, with one more having fallen to the floor. Along with the lever, they noted three pillars with symbols on them. Seeing that the threat had passed, the group entered the room. Suddenly, several arrows flew towards the lone wanderer, impaling and killing him almost instantly, something that Steven had to look away from as recent memories were still sticking. While the group approached the room, pausing just outside of it, they watched as the bandit pulled the lever. Not wanting to engage anymore people for the time being, the group silently crept behind the man as they watched him enter a room with a lever in the middle of it. "Hmm, must have been my imagination" the man said before moving downstairs. While the man searched about for the source of the noise, the gang watched on in silence. As the group sat near a U path in the room, they noticed another bandit. "Garnet, what's wr-" "Is someone there?" Pearl heard as she was interrupted. As the Gems came around a few more corners, they were suddenly halted by Garnet, who stopped dead in her tracks. Moving past the corpse, the group continued moving through the corridor of the cave. Giant rats and dragons? What's next, giant spiders?" joked Amethyst. "Man, this place just keeps getting weirder and weirder. "I think it's a rat, or at least a rather large one." A shocked and creeped out Pearl responded. "What is that?" said Connie in disgust, causing Steven to snap out of his silent sorrow for a moment. With as many guards as we've already encountered, it seemed like this would be a larger operation, but so far nothing more." Pearl noted.Īs the group turned the corner and continued on, they approached a corpse in the pathway. I thought there would've been more people here." said Amethyst, as they passed a large opening, which was inaccessible due to part of the cave being collapsed. However, the further the group went into the dungeon, the less danger they found. Connie stayed near Steven, who hadn't said a word since the incident with the bandit, to try and give him some comfort while the others stayed in the front to watch out for danger.
